Out of the Archive: Architectural Exhibitions, Displays and Publications
Architectural and Design Museums and Archives are more than repositories for drawings, correspondence, ephemera, antique prints, models and other objects, and rare books; they also have a role in promoting, carrying out and disseminating research based on items in their collections. Dissemination often occurs through the visual media of exhibitions, displays and publications. The ICAM Australasia 2014 meeting will be a chance to discover and discuss how archival material from drawings to books can be exhibited to best effect. Day 1 (Thursday 23 October) of the program centres on visits to various collections held by institutions in the North Terrace cultural precinct between Frome Road and Kintore Avenue, while Day 2 (Friday 24 October) is based at the University of South Australia, City West campus, on Hindley Street.
